When I first went to Hangzhou, the taxi driver drove me round and round up a mountain... much like the bus that runs up to Getting in circles.

At the top was a tea plantation and I was given an introduction to how 龙井茶叶 were grown. I had a nice conversation with the farmer who hospitably treated me to freshly plucked Longjing tea. I bought half a kg of the freshest tea leaves directly from the source... bypassing the shops. 

When was that?  It was before the age of the internet, no Google Translate, no Google and before your mother started menstruating.
