This American CEO, aside from Elon, is a rare breed today in US auto industry that talks only about EV in his every speech...

He shared his childhood and love of cars...difference is he is now hold a different view AFTER visiting his competitors in China - that changed his mind about EV Revolution is REAL.

The Ford CEO should have watched this 2022 CCTV documentary which precisely explains PRC's strategic plan for the transport industry,  not just EV, but also networked transportation revolution based around 5G, AI etc etc ...one of several Made in China 2025 KPI.

The West only gets to wake up after their iron-rice bowl is at risk...

I am surprised that these very highly paid CEOs actually didn't know what their competitors are doing.

Makes me think that they are highly paid for nothing... I thought this is what all competent leaders should be doing.

Complacency can be fatal....for e.g. the former Toyota CEO...a deep deep skeptic of EV.

i'm sure they see it coming. but prob is not easy to solve coz there is this whole old infrastructure and supply chain that comes with it and US can't change it so easily after 100 years dominance. but China is relatively new to automotive as compared to US and can leapfrog the technology...

Most American CEOs and politicians have zero knowledge of China and in their arrogance and ignorance underestimates the country's capabilities and know how.

Which to me is great as China continues to spring nasty surprises to the US.  Know your enemy as you know yourself from Sun Tzu is obviously is never practised by those arrogant Americans.

Likely they know what’s happening but prefer to keep quiet because there’s nothing they could do. Just hope to drag on for a few more than step down seems to be the best option for them
