Fukushima waste water fears: all you need to know about Hong Kong’s latest response
#1

Professor Rudolf Wu Shiu-san, a marine ecology expert at the Education University of Hong Kong, previously warned that oysters, clams, and other bivalve molluscs with two-part hinged shells were at a higher risk of accumulating radioactive substances from the water and their diet.

He said eating sashimi every day would definitely increase the risk of contamination, and Hongkongers travelling in Japan should ask restaurants about the origins of their seafood.

“Consumers should avoid eating larger fish, such as bluefin tuna as they are higher up the food chain and can accumulate more toxins, including radionuclides,” Leung said, referring to the elements that release radiation as they break down.

“Fish living near the bottom of the sea, such as flounder, are also in closer contact with pollutants in the seabed. Hongkongers should eat these in small quantities and do their own risk assessment.”

He added that pregnant women and children should avoid eating sashimi and other high-risk seafood.

Federation director Chan said the catering sector had considered sourcing seafood from other places, such as buying spot prawns from Russia, as well as oysters and sea urchins from Canada. But costs would increase for operators, he said.

If the water is really safe, Japan should allow China, Korea and other countries to send scientists to inspect the quality of the water, and Japan should use it for agriculture purposes, water the gardens, use in fish ponds, swimming pools and car wash, even make it into bottled drinking water, why must dump to the ocean?

Japanese dunt eat seafood from Fukushima region, you dunt know meh? They export them to Korea and other countries using fake label such as “made in Tokyo” with a secret letter indicating the actual origin, all Japanese know how to identify.

Dunt listen to what Japanese government and media, they are all lying. Use your brain, mate. The water released to the ocean is not ordinary water that used for cooling down the nuclear core, the nuclear core was melt down during the earth quake causing the water highly radioactive, 50 of the engineers who dived to the water in the plant for inspection and work after the quake suffered from cancers, some already passed away years later. In the past few months the fish caught near the coast of Fukushima are tested to have very high level of radiation that can’t be consumed by humans.

If you think it is safe, why is Chernobyl still abandoned so many years after the nuclear disaster? Fukushima nuclear disaster is as bad as Chernobyl disaster.

Dunt be fooled by Japanese PM happily eating fish presumably caught from Fukushima, it was just a political show to calm the general public, Koreans suspect the fish he ate are from elsewhere.

Remember soon after earthquake nobody in Japan wants to eat seafood from Fukushima so they had no choice but to use the fish as part of airline meals to force people eat.

Yesterday a big protest of Fukushima fishermen demanded Japanese government to halt water release.

The water is highly radioactive and contains 62 different types of radioactive elements that is impossible to remove using the best technology. IAEA’s initial test result showed high level of radioactive reading in the water….however after Japanese government donated a few millions to IAEA, IAEA changes its stance and gave the green light. The funny thing is IAEA never sent its own team to inspect the water first hand, all it did was to assess the water samples provided by Japan, which is not right. If the water is really safe Japan should be transparent and let IAEA, Korea, China and all the countries to send delegations to analyse the water directly to clear the doubts, but Japan didn’t do so. If the water is very safe and the fish from Fukushima can be consumed safely, why does Japan die die want to dump so many tons of  precious water to the ocean instead of using it for agriculture purposes, fish ponds, swimming pools, car wash and even make it as drinking water?

Worse still the water dumping is not one off, it will last for the next 30 years, the entire Pacific Ocean will be polluted, sea creatures will contain high levels of radiation and food chains will be hugely impacted. This is not a joke. The strong currents will send the nuclear water to the U.S. West Coast then Mexico, Hawaii, Australia, NZ, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, China and Korea... it will reach coasts of all the countries around the Pacific within 57 days, and other oceans in coming years.

In fact the fishes caught in California contained high level of radiation after 311 disaster in Japan.
