In view of the omicron wave, the Standing Vaccination Committee (Stiko) has recommended a second booster vaccination for groups at particularly high risk as well as employees in the health and care sector. 

This was announced by the independent panel of experts on Thursday in Berlin.

The second booster should therefore be administered to people who are at high risk of health at the earliest three months after the first booster vaccination. Healthcare workers should get it after six months at the earliest.
