They are asking for a mandate to continue the PAP approach and double down on the current policies.
The centrepiece of the PAP approach is to bring in foreigners to artificially grow the economy. The population density of Singapore is already highest in the world - more than double that of shanghai. But the PAP remains committed to the strategy wth elites saying hosting a population of 10M on our small island will be good for us

You decide for yourself if overcrowding is good for you. If you are a property agent or a property tycoon, i am sure you will welcome the PAP plan and approach.
But as an ordinary citizen is this really what you want?
For the millions of elderly who aare retired or near retirement and have limited earning ability their desire is for cost of living to go down so that life can be less of a struggle. Does the PAP address their concerns?
For the working class Singaooreans, they want better job opportunities and not have it taken away when companies choose to hire non Singaooreans.
For all the normal human beings living in Singaoore we want an environment that is less stressful and less overcrowded so that we can maintain our mental health.

There is alot of talk by the PAP but the main thing they are selling is very easy to understand;
1. Grow the economy artificially by importing foreigners.
2. Whatever problems that comes wiith a growing population pass it to ordinary Singaporeans to cope with it.
3. If the struggle becomes too hard, hand out some vouchers and assistance to ease the pain.
The PAP is asking for a strong mandate to continue with the above PAP plan.
I prefer a complete stop be put to it and a new course to be charted. The PAP through fear mongering, gerrymandering and temporary carrots is certain to secure majority of the seats. But they have to be denied a strong mandate to stop them from accelerating their plan. It is already devastating for singaporeans who now struggling to cope
