At the Binger Mouse Tower: A children's bicycle lies in the dried-up riverbed of the Rhine. Walkers take advantage of the drought for a short hike in the river bed.
Last year the water masses in the Ahr valley were so strong that the entire building was swept away - the historic Nepomuk Bridge in Rech was destroyed. This year, the Ahr also has little water.

The long-awaited rain has caused flooded streets and flooded basements in Bavaria. As predicted, large amounts of rain had fallen from Friday afternoon, with Swabia and Upper Bavaria being particularly affected. And because the soil there had hardened due to the drought over the past few weeks , they couldn't absorb the amount of precipitation as it came from the sky.
