我国泳手约瑟林和林香杞涉触犯与吸食大麻相关的条例，被中央肃毒局调查。当局在完成调查后对林香杞发出严厉警告，目前在服兵役的约瑟林则交由国防部和新加坡武装部队采取适当措施。

新加坡体育理事会星期二（8月30日）发文告说，当局将彻底审视两人案件背后的因由，再制定要采取哪些相应的后续措施。

新加坡游泳协会和新加坡全国奥林匹克理事会也将各自探讨相应的措施。

Even legalizing the drug will not do. They might not be flouting the law but for sportpersons, the standards are higher and they will be banned from the sports.

For example, even though cannabis is legal in some states in USA, NBA players are not allowed to take it as it gives them an unfair advantage in treating pain etc. 

NBA, however, has stopped random tests on marijuana from 2021 due to it being legal in 18 states. But if the athlete is caught taking it via other means, they will still be banned for a period of time.
