Why Buddhist cannot eat beef? They are missing the good things in life.

there are 10 meats which are specifically prohibited for monks to eat: human meat, for obvious reasons; meat from elephants and horses as these were then considered royal animals; dog meat – as this was considered by ordinary people to be disgusting; and meat from snakes, lions, tigers, panthers, bears and hyenas – because one who had just eaten the flesh of such dangerous jungle animals was thought to give forth such a smell as to draw forth revenge from the same species.

The reason is given in the Lankavatara Sutra. I extracted a passage from it:

For innumerable reasons, Mahāmati, the Bodhisattva, whose nature is compassion, is not to eat any meat; I will explain them: Mahāmati, in this long course of transmigration here, there is not one living being that, having assumed the form of a living being, has not been your mother, or father, or brother, or sister, or son, or daughter, or the one or the other, in various degrees of kinship; and when acquiring another form of life may live as a beast, as a domestic animal, as a bird, or as a womb-born, or as something standing in some relationship to you; [this being so] how can the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva who desires to approach all living beings as if they were himself and to practise the Buddha-truths, eat the flesh of any living being that is of the same nature as himself?

Hindus also don’t eat beef.... and if you are a Christian, you should know some christians also don’t talk beef.... good things in life? beef is considered the red meat that has the highest percentage to cause cancer.... also if you like eating beef rare or even medium rare, you are likely to have heart disease.... go google, highest cholesterol among the meat
