In January 2016, Indonesia received the transfer of one prototype and various technical data in exchange for paying approximately 1.7 trillion won (later reduced to approximately 1.6 trillion won), which is 20% of the KF-21 development cost, until June 2026. It was decided to produce 48 units locally in Indonesia.
