1. If our education system is successful why do we need to import PMETs from developing countries where education system is bad.
2. If we cannot produce the skills and have to fill jobs with people from India and Phillipines ...what does that say about our education system.
3. Why does the govt keep denying there is a problem? Look at the restrictions to locals trying to enter Computer Science in NUS to have a career in IT. They are pushed to other courses where job prospects are poorer and IT jobs go to foreigners.
4. So many after going through Singapore education system End up delivering food and driving PHV.
4. Can some one look at all these facts and say there is no problem?
I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

According to PSP Leong Mun Wai, this problem has been in Singapore for 20 years.
Singapore needs to import Education Minister from India.

in singapore, without paper ur chances are succeeding are low. that is what needs to change. value talent and experience over quals.
but as long as we reward scholars with platinum rice bowls, that mindset will continue to prevail.

JoTeo and now it looks like, even Tan See Leng reports to Modi.
Chan Chun Sing must seek 20 years mentorship from Dr Mahendra and Ramesh Pokriyal.
I am sure they can benefit greatly rather than to waste 4 years of Scholarship time and money in the wrong place.

Yes yes.. the real source of problem is people's perception that getting a scholarship is the sure way to success. Need to get rid of this system. This gives them a sense of self-entitlement also.

Eventually it's not up to them but their bosses.

The HR expert doesnt know our education system is programmed to brainwash the dafts.
In other countries, if the student result is good, the student can skip grade. Faster finish the education.

EP holders no need to pay CPF contributions same rate as our locals. Why such a great discrepancy? Should let locals choose to be 'EP' status. One way to remove EP expats here is to implement same structure to be in line with other working population.

PA P may not know that FTs are discouraged from taking up SPRs. My previous workplace set a rule for FTs. If they take up SPR here, they pay their own Company portion of CPF every mth. Their salary remains the same.
Since PAP is gearing hard for Population Growth, their FREE & Easy Employment Pass is actually a bane.

Our Uni education system is not to train manpower for tomorrow. Instead, it is to train manpower for yesteryears.

I presume that Free Trade Agreements are signed without knowing what industries Singapore is attracting?
So it became impossible to forecast future manpower needs. Just like CECA where G naively thinks that Bilateral trade works wonders for all.

When asking a question, never ask why?
It is becos you will not get a good answer.
Ppl are not willing to speak up as asking why
has an impact the person being questioned is in the wrong.
Always ask how?
then everyone is a hr expert
but how only toc interview?
