SANAA, Yemen – Yemen’s Houthis on May 5 accused the US of carrying out strikes in & around Sanaa, after Iran-backed rebels claimed a missile strike on Israel’s main airport. Houthi-run news agency said strikes included two targeting Arbaeen street in Sanaa as well as one on airport road, blaming them on “American aggression”.

Israel Downs Drone as Houthis Vow to Continue Tit-for-Tat Strikes. The Israeli military said it had intercepted an unmanned vehicle a day after President Trump said the U.S. would step back from conflict with the Iran-backed group. Israel said it had shot down a drone that approaching from east on Wednesday, as Houthi officials in Yemen vowed to continue attacking the country a day after President Trump said the United States would stop bombing the Iran-backed group.

The Israeli military said in a statement that the drone was intercepted by the air force and sirens blared as it approached. It was not immediately clear who launched the drone. But the Houthi militia group reiterated that it would continue to attack Israel, both to avenge attacks in Yemen and because of the war in Gaza. “We cannot accept Yemen being targeted and violated without a response,” Mohamed Abdelsalam, a spokesman for the group, told Al Jazeera, the Qatari broadcaster, echoing comments by a senior Houthi politician on Tuesday. “We will continue to respond to the Israeli entity by all available means.”

The official said Sao Trump is growing frustrated with Israel’s approach and that he intends to push on with a deal, regardless of Israel's position.

A senior American official delivered unusually sharp criticism of Israel’s conduct in hostage negotiations and warned that the United States is prepared to finalize a regional agreement with Saudi Arabia, even without Israeli participation, N12 reported on Wednesday. According to the report, the remarks were made during a meeting Monday night between the official and the families of hostages held by Hamas.

Remains found in 'heart of Syria,' in 'covert, complex' operation by non-Israeli agents working for Mossad; officials vow to return 3rd missing soldier from 1982 battle of Sultan Yacoub. Mossad spy agency and the Israel Defense Forces recovered remains of Sgt. First Class Zvi Feldman, who went missing in First Lebanon War’s battle of Sultan Yacoub in 1982, officials announced on Sunday. 
The battle, nearly 43 years ago, was a skirmish between the IDF and the Syrian army in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley. It claimed the lives of 21 Israeli servicemen, & more than 30 were injured during it. 
Feldman, a tank soldier, went missing during battle along with Sgt. First Class Yehuda Katz & Sgt. First Class Zachary Baumel. Baumel’s remains were recovered & returned to Israel in 2019. In joint statement on Sunday, Mossad & IDF said body of Feldman was recovered from “the heart of Syria” in a special op.

Al Jazeera is now reporting that death toll in Gaza from Israeli attacks since dawn on Wednesday has reached 80Earlier Associated Press reported, citing local medics, that at least 22 children were among those killed in the Israeli bombardment. Guardian has not independently verified figures. Al Jazeera is also carrying a quote from Hamas. Group accused Benjamin Netanyahu & Israeli govt of “rushing to escalate aggression and massacres against civilians”, but said tactic would “bring Netanyahu no form of victory.”

Al Jazeera has been banned from operating inside Israel by Benjamin Netanyahu’s govt.
