Netanyahu Sent Aide to Moscow Seeking Progress On Gaza Hostages. Israel sought Russia’s help in making progress on a deal to free hostages from Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said, as efforts spearheaded by the US, Qatar and Egypt to secure a truce with Hamas advance slowly.

Netanyahu’s military secretary returned on Sunday morning from Moscow, where he discussed the hostages with his hosts, according to a statement. The government of Vladimir Putin has been in contact with Hamas over the fate of hostages who hold Russian citizenship.

Hostage killings leave Israeli protesters at 'breaking point'. Through the street outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s house passed a slow procession of empty coffins - carried by protesters in a sea of Israeli flags. Since six Israeli hostages were found dead in a Gaza tunnel last weekend, the weight of the war there has hung heavier on Israel’s leader.

Israel said Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi and Master Sgt Ori Danino were shot and killed by Hamas shortly before Israeli troops made the discovery.. “I think the fact that they were alive and murdered right before they could have been saved – that broke it,” said Anna Rubin, who joined a protest in Tel Aviv.

Hamas has proposed a ceasefire plan that would quiet the guns in Gaza for four-and-a-half months leading to an end to the war, in response to a proposal sent last week by Qatari and Egyptian mediators and backed by the US and Israel.

IDF says it carried out ‘precise’ strike on terrorists in Gaza humanitarian zone amid ‘immediate threat’. Overnight, Israeli attack helicopters carried out an airstrike on Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror operatives at a command center embedded within the Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in central Gaza, the IDF says.

Strike took place in Deir al-Balah area, reportedly near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. Palestinian media outlets report at least 5-dead in the strike. Military says that the “precise” strike was carried out to remove “an immediate threat.” Site was being used by the terror operatives to plan & carry out attacks against troops and Israel. To mitigate harm to civilians in strike, military says it carried out “many steps,” including precision munitions, aerial surveillance, & other intelligence.

Poll: Majority of Israelis say hostage deal takes precedence over troops staying in Philadelphi Corridor. 60% of Israelis believe a hostage deal should take precedence over troops staying in the Philadelphi Corridor, a Channel 12 news poll finds, with 28% responding that the axis on the Egypt-Gaza border was more important. Twelve percent said they did not know. When asked if they believe the government is doing all it can to bring the hostages home, 61% said no, 34% said yes and 5% said they did not know.

The outlet says that when asked what they think stems from Netanyahu’s insistence on the IDF remaining in the Philadelphia Corridor, a majority said it came from the premier’s political considerations. Pollsters found voters for Netanyahu’s Likud party were more likely to believe remaining in Philadelphi Corridor takes precedence over a deal to bring home 101 hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

Survey also found Netanyahu is less trusted by the public than opposition leaders — 35% of Israelis trust Opposition Leader Yair Lapid more than Netanyahu, compared to 33% who trust premier more & 28% who trust neither of them.

When asked about National Unity leader Benny Gantz, 41% of the respondents answered that they trust Gantz more, and 27% answered that they believe Netanyahu more. However the outlet says poll found former prime minister Naftali Bennett is the most trusted — 44% of Israeli public trust him over Netanyahu, compared to 29% who trust the premier more.

Respondents also see Netanyahu as the Israeli who holds the most responsibility for October 7 – 43% said the premier was to blame, followed by Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi with 18%, Shin Bet chief Ronan Bar with 14% and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant with 6%. Survey also examined the public’s position regarding far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s attempt to formally change, status quo on Temple Mount, & promote Jewish prayer at flashpoint site. Poll found more than 2/3 of Israeli public — 68% — opposes Jewish prayers on Temple Mount, thus opposes changing the existing situation.

There are some 300,000 Arab Bedouins living in Negev. As Muslim-Arab citizens of Israel, many are still struggling to find their place in Israeli society 75 years after Jewish state established, despite many of them serving in military. War with Hamas has only deepened sense of uncertainty. Bedouins living near t Gaza border feel they have been doubly victimized: first by being within striking distance of Hamas rockets with minimal protection, and second by state marginalization that has only grown worse since Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel.

The village of Khirbet Karkur is not recognized by the Israeli state. Residents live a semi-nomadic life, in an open desert area and in dwellings that aren’t connected to the Israeli electricity grid or water supply. Like many other unrecognized villages, it has no schools or hospitals, and residents say that women have been forced to give birth in cars on the way to hospital because ambulances struggle to reach the town.

IDF, Shin Bet canceled arrests of 9 terror suspects due to lack of space in Israeli prisons — reportI -- DF and the Shin Bet security agency have canceled nine arrest operations in the West Bank in the past two days due to a lack of capacity in Israeli prisons to process Palestinian security suspects, Channel 12 reports.

“The failure of Minister [Itamar] Ben Gvir, who is responsible for national security, to deal with the issue of prison space, endangers national security and it won’t be long until it costs human life,” the network cites a security source as saying.

The issue ingoing since Hamas’s October 7 massacre in southern Israel and the ensuing war in Gaza, with the Shin Bet repeatedly complaining that it has been forced to send prisoners back to the Strip due to a lack of jail space. Cool

US officials are skeptical about introducing a new hostage deal proposal as negotiations between Hamas and Israel stall, despite ongoing efforts with Qatar and Egypt. Senior US officials have expressed skepticism about introducing a new proposal for a hostage deal in the coming days. The US is still coordinating with Qatar and Egypt on a draft, but President Joe Biden’s senior advisers are debating whether it is worthwhile to table such a proposal as the gaps between Hamas and Israel continue to grow.

White House has been reassessing its approach to the negotiations aimed at securing the release of hostages and implementing a ceasefire in Gaza. Some of Biden’s senior advisers are questioning the effectiveness of presenting a new mediation proposal, as the differences between Hamas and Israel seem to be widening, according to senior American officials.

Israel’s war on Hamas: Jewish voters favor Kamala Harris over Donald Trump 68% to 25%, poll shows. Survey found by 87% of American Jewish voters support Biden administration’s efforts to reach a ceasefire in Israel-Hamas War that would release Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
American Jews plan to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris by a wide margin, according to a new survey by a Jewish Democratic group.

Survey, released Monday by Jewish Democratic Council of America, shows 68% of Jewish voters planning to vote for Harris, Democratic nominee & 25% planning to vote for Donald Trump, the former president & Republican nominee.

The survey indicates a volatile season of campaigning, including heated exchanges over which party is worse for American Jews, has hardly budged Jewish electorate. It suggests that extensive Republican efforts to draw greater numbers of Jewish voters after October 7 have not significantly moved the needle.
