Health Minister Ong Ye Kung said Singapore is "progressively catching up" with the post-COVID hospital capacity strain.

Highlighting TTSH-ICH's addition of 300 beds and the imminent launch of WHC with 360 beds, he addressed WP MP Jamus Lim's PQ on hospital bed shortages in a written reply.

In April 2023, MOH observed a rise in median ward admission wait times to 7.2 hours from five hours.
