It took AirBus more than 8 years to secure the first overseas order after the maiden flight.  It was from a British Airline. Some more,  the AirBus is a wide body aircraft which is more accepted.  Will c if C919 can do better. The Brunei order is just an intent and a variant.

Are they not reinventing the wheels? Unlike EV which is price sensitive, airplane buyers are more looking at track records flight records, and safety. Fortunately, Boeing's track record was tarnished by many incidences of operation problems; if not, COMAC doesn't even have a chance.

Presently, AirBus is looking at hydrogen fuel for narrow-body aircraft.
