Climate change and deforestation are driving the monkeys off the trees

Around eight million years ago, climatic changes gradually forced man's ancestors to leave the trees and settle in the newly emerging tree savannahs. 

A large-scale study shows that a similar development is now emerging among the primates of Earth, albeit much faster than was the case then.
