Despite all this, Taiwanese voters are wary of the KMT and there is scandal also on tge KMT side.

Main thing is the ties with China. Last thing Taiwanese wants is to end up as another HK under China or tu be economically dependent on China. China can use economic dependence to impose its will on Taiwan.

To preserve their way of life and not come under communism, Taiwan has to beef up its defense and spend more here to deter attacks. So far DPP does a better job than KMT here.

Dpp and kmt took different path. Kmt use the approach of warm relationship with ccp and the ppl, so even if one day ccp want to attack, ccp ppl will kao pei also.

Dpp use the approach of exactly opposite.

Both approaches will not spare Taiwan from being taken back by ccp, just that how much ppl will suffer only. As for the rich and connected, no impact lah.
