Washington urges Beijing to choose ‘diplomacy’ not military ‘pressure’ on Taiwan
#1

The US yesterday called on China to choose diplomacy rather than military pressure on Taiwan after Beijing deployed warships following a meeting by the island’s leader with the US House speaker.

“We continue to urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure against Taiwan and instead engage in meaningful diplomacy,” State Department spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters.

My own take is Taiwan Chinese forefathers is fight lose in China run road to Taiwan hide. Those group should be all die finish liao. Their offspring need to decide to carry on the fight their forefathers lost or to seek peaceful reunification. Afterall same skin color why fight? Those are last time history now is 2023 peace should prevail over those old fights which should be buried as time passed by.

Isn’t it an irony that the American administration is pressuring Taiwan into buying their weapon?

The best part is, though the US House Speaker does not have any significant administration power to negotiate or provide any assistance for Taiwan in time of needs. Yet the Taiwanese President Tsai is merely helping Mr. McCarthy to gain political brownies, while on the other hand she gain nothing out of it. This merely show how “intelligent” President Tsai is.

And on top of that she has to sign contracts into buying second hand weaponaries from USA, as well as agreeing to the unfair terms with the American’s request over TSMC as reported in Taiwanese news. This is typically 陪了夫人又折兵。。。

Taiwan has been run like a country for the last 100 years. It will continue to be same for the next 100 years as Taiwanese do not wish or will vote in a referendum to be a part of China. Status quo will prevail.

Status quo prevail assume they do not walk too close to US. Maintain some neutrality is best. Ukraine is classic e.g when it overstep it's boundaries
