I've done renovation for my houses in both China and Spore and I must say the renovation technology is much better in China. Our workmanship in Spore cannot make it.

Because in the first place we never glory low skill works. Thus Locals all wanna work in High tier works but EPIC now facing tough competition from Foreigner talents. Those low skill works now mostly done by foreigners. Remember they all just come SG for $$$ Don't give you a dam what quality work there.
