Dont always think fresh chicken is expensive.
I only eat fresh chicken when doing home cooking.

A few years ago, my mother wanted to buy a whole chicken from a food court stall at Jurong East's Mall, costing SGD 50++.
I told her I could buy a whole chicken at Fairprice for less than SGD 4.
When one gets older, he/she can't differentiate SGD 50 from SGD 5? Or they just want to spend money like no tomorrow??

In S'pore, we suffer the double whammy of "inflation" and "shrinkflation".

Seniors may want to spend their life savings on themselves instead of leaving their hard earned money to children who may squander it; better to squander the money that they earned on themselves.

True, since cannot bring along then just splurge.
Very painful indeed not to be able to lug along the hard earned money.

Rich people are often told that money won't make them happy, but I am sure that poor people would rather feel miserable while staying in a GCB than be crying inside a 3-room HDB flat.
