ICA give you excuse for letting the scam couple slip through kym?

Conducting checks on all outgoing vehicles from Singapore's land checkpoints will have a significant impact on trade and  travel, and could also "severely worsen" the departure traffic  situation, said the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

"While the checks may not be 100 per cent, they are not minimal or negligible in number," said the authority.

The fugitives — Singaporean Pi Jiapeng and Thai national Pansuk  Siriwipa — had left the country by hiding in the container compartment of a lorry, and were assisted by a 40-year-old Malaysian man.

Another flaw in Govt's procedure that will embarass themselves like Mas S. case. Do they think that we have big borders like Thailand or China that justify such a slip through?

I agree with the above. The couple are a flight risk and were granted bail. Minimally police should monitor them given severity of crime.

If the ICA conduct 100% checking the queues will be long and people will complain.

The police have laws and protocol to follow. They cannot detain people longer than necessary unless with court order. They have impounded their passports.

One question is not answered is how were the two Malaysians being tracked down since the two scammers have already made good their escape?
