Does the authority know that consumers want such plastic bags to store their food scraps, kitchen scraps after preparing food for cooking? Why implement such stupid policy only to see the rubbish bins full of rubbish with no plastic bags?
People’s mindset of bad habit has to change….plastic bags from supermarkets are not meant for rubbish, people shall use proper rubbish bags instead just like what people do in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. We are no longer a 3rd world country or fishing village.

Other countries do not have millions of HDB flats and condo apartments. Our only way is to throw all our rubbish into the chute. Why add expenses to each household buying those black bags to discard out stuff? 4G leasers just have to show to be doing something just ram such policy. Wait till rubbish full of food scraps , full of cockroaches, rats, etc. Since we are 1st world country, why not change the whole system of getting every kitchen sink to auto chop chop chop whatever food goes into the sink just like the yankees are doing?

In Taiwan, people must use garment approved trash bags to store rubbish, recycled trash will be kept separately. And once a week, when the garbage truck arrives in neighbourhood every household will carry rubbish and go downstairs to throw to the truck. The trashes that are used non garment approved bags will be rejected on the spot.

Many countries have HDBs, China has more HDBs than in Spore.

Garment should distribute free trash bags to every household for a year to help people to change the old habit. After that people will start buying own trash bags.
