"At the end of every month, when my salary is in, I use it to pay my credit bills, parents' allowance, insurances and investments," said 31-year-old Singaporean Jovan Yeo, who works for a digital bank services firm.

"After all these, my salary is back to zero again, with nothing much to save," he said, adding that other expenses go into travel, dining out and fitness class memberships."

This may help some workers to tie over cash flows

You don't need to be a genius to predict future generations of beggars and increasingly begging hand-outs

Easier to rule a small land with fear than love. Always better for people to rely on govt handout so they stay out of politics. Nevermind the noise on the ground if a bit of handout can quench the thirst at the right time.

Singapore is a playground for the rich, the same 30k fine has different effects on individuals. The land of the law favours not justice alone but those who can afford. Likewise, policies favours those that pens them.

The law of the jungle dictates that the poor are to follow the rules, those in power pen the rules and the elites are protected by the rules. It works in economics, social and legal etc..
