SL KANTHAN: "THE BRITISH SCREWED UP"

It was a rare occasion to hear from an Indian national acknowledging that India and China existed peacefully for more than two thousand years and then saying  the British came and " screwed up" the relationship by drawing the McMahon Line in March 1914.

SL Kanthan , a geopolitical analyst from India, spoke calmly with Lena Petrova,  a blogger, on the current India China relationship. According to him, prior to the creation of the McMahon Line by the British, India and China shared a natural  border which was  the Himalayan Mountain Range.

By respecting the natural border, the relationship between India and China was peaceful and had been so for more than two thousand years. Trade prospered between the world's greatest populations for two millennia with  China exporting silk, pottery and medicine to India which re-exported the Chinese goods to Africa and from there to Europe via Italy. It sparked Marco Polo to venture into China during the Yuan Dynasty.

Conversely India introduced Buddhism to China . He said there was a bronze Buddha statue in China which dated 338 A D.

SL Kanthan lamented with a tinge of regret in his voice of the missed opportunities for India and China from not working together . The opportunities he said, were enormous if only the combined population of  nearly 2.8 billion people could work together. He said  ,whilst China was moving up the value chain in manufactured goods it could transfer the manufacture of selected labour intensive items to India which had an abundant supply of labour.

He looked sad that the India China border conflict had created a problem between the two nations that stymied progress.

He suggested a solution which was the freezing of the border disputes and moving forward in other areas.

Most Asians can consider SL Kanthan's proposal but not by Washington which probably harbours a hidden plan of  turning India into a second Ukraine against China and to be  their spanner blocking the progress of a fledgling BRICS. But there is a problem. Indians belong to an intelligent race and they can see through the American's hidden agendas.
