Essential services must be strongly regulated or they must be owned by the govt, else the profit-making companies will always put bottomline before everything else.

Just look at our SMRT a few years ago. Under a CEO who was eager to prove her worth she sacrificed the smooth-running of the trains for profits.

Unlike SMRT that provides a service, BOEING is a product company, bad reputation will ruin the company.
