I learn something new from the article - that some Indians custom regard having a toilet or washroom at home as "unholy"

That partly explains why many in India prefer to defecate in public places.

That is one cultural thing that will take time to change...if ever.

No surprise it can be a big occasion for any rural village to have a newly constructed toilet in their village....The only question is, after the opening ceremony, who is going to clean and maintain it ?
