Intel CEO Forced Out by Board Frustrated With Slow Progress

I dont think its the CEO.
The environment is very competitive and Intel was wrongly position for too long. The current CEO put the company on the right path but it takes time. Building new foundaries and closing the gap in process takes years.
They need a scapegoat as investors always have no patience.

Under his leadership, Intel invested about USD 1.4 billion in China and recently another 300 million in Chengdu. As a result of the heavy investment in China, the US administration delayed giving them their Chip Fund until very recently, with the condition that it can only be used to supply military products to the US. On the other hand, China played them out by not approving Intel's deal to buy Tower Semiconductor and they had to pay a few hundred million for backing out. Intel got a double whammy under his leadership.
aiptasia is now in my ignored list.
Omi.. Thank you for bumping up the message.

1.4B is like nothing given size and span of the company.
The required investment to catch TSMC is minimum 20-40B a yr.
Anyway Intel is the only indigenous US chip maker of large soale. Micron only makes memory. No matter what it will survive.

It will need to beg for govt and local business support to survive

1.4 Billion may be nothing to Intel but the Chip Fund worth a lot. He got played out by both sides. A technocrat who does not know how to play the game.

The strategy for Intel is very puzzling. It essentially stopped innovating for a few years while companies such as AMD and Apple overtook. Then Nvidia. Intel was that huge dinosaur that didn't adapt.
