Aiyah, private Uni degree in Sg is not recognized by the Sg Gov you will have a hard time getting a Gov job. The private sector will take advantage and pay you a lower salary than a local Uni grad, if they want to employ you.

Yes, if you are not smart enough to go NUS, NTU or the lower local Uni .... get pte degree.

Get it as fast as possible then quick quick get a job ....no one cares about your degree as long you have one. Quick quick come out get relevant and transferable experience ... then start job hopping to gain increment and position.

Stop wasting time with Grab delivery or Grab driver

many are attending SIM uni courses. some of these grads might go up the corporate ladders quite well.

My sense is definite better than poly diplomas.

quite true to say that -- "job hopping to gain increment and position" -- this is better than staying in the position and wait for promotions!! sometimes it never happen, LOL

If it comes ... maybe pay increment is 8-10% ... after 3-4 years wait ....
every hope, you can ask for 20-25% and you do it every 2years ... imagine

If you are from our local poly, can go for Degree

But if you are ITE, forgot it!

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

There is definitely demand as many students opt for it,
Whether job market really require it is another issue.
Every year ~43% went public U, some others will go overseas or pte local U.
One can expect at least 50% of the young hold a degree.
and they will compete with foreigner graduates.

For most conventional Sg company, there would be that many positions only
so maybe 40% of grad have to do and get lower than what expected.

Worth it or not, sometimes depends on individual and of course connections....

A degree gets you a foot in the door, but with graduates becoming a dime a dozen, private university grads will be viewed as the 3rd or 4th tier of talents compared with NUS, NTU, SMU and overseas degree holders.

No use one. This is why if you kids can go JC Better go JC route > Either NUS or NTU BETTER.

What SIM , USIM , SIT ( this one no doubt so call Govt uni is not like NUS or NTU ) is more cater those cannot make it poly grad which they cannot get the top 1 percent go in NUS or NTU ones.

Poly grad can go NUS or NTU BUT must study dam good within the top 1 percent than they can enter.

NUS and NTU got reserve some slots for top poly grad beside JC grads.
