Is it true that most S'poreans lack fashion sense?
#1

Owing to S'pore's tropical heat and humidity, our dressing is generally casual, relaxed and classic. We opt for clothing that suits our body shape, keeps us cool and makes us look our best. However, critics often accuse locals of not taking pride in our dressing or making any effort to keep up with fashion when out and about even in Orchard Road. Do you agree?

Singaporeans definitely have a unique fashion sense.

It's a mix of different styles influenced by the country's multicultural background and the hot and humid climate. You'll see everything from traditional wear to the latest Western trends, and a lot in between.

When I am in HK I also very fashionable especially in winter. When back in Singapore my fashion is t-shirt, shorts, flipflops and some days no underwear to stop sweating down there.     Cool

Those of us who are well-travelled would have seen how the Japanese, Koreans, North Americans, Europeans etc. dress fashionably as well as sensibly in summer.  It doesn't have to be one or the other. Dress to please yourself, but bear in mind that comfort and fashion can easily co-exist.

We have more options outside of work to wear casual wear that is relaxed yet smart. As long as our clothing is not torn, faded, mismatched, rotting, frayed or dirty, we are presentable. We don't need to be wearing jackets, waistcoats, pants, long sleeves etc. to look fashionable.

Lee Hsien Loong and Ho Ching's son, Li Hongyi is a prime example of dressing inappropriately for a public forum.

Yeah... In 2024 if we see this on orchard road, we will believe it's transsexuals. Now with all the advanced sex transitioning hormones and surgeries.

That's why they say sinkies are unfashionable.

Torn, faded, mismatched, rotting, frayed and dirty clothing all at the height of fashion now and selling at super expensive prices. Check out Balenciaga, Vetements, Maison Mihara, Yohji Yamamoto, Rick Owens etc

Common sense and fashion sense aren't mutually exclusive; in fact, they go hand-in-hand.

You miss the point. This is an example of being fashionable for warm weather, but this Uniqlo outfit is not that expensive
