To me it was when the average Joe working an average job could support a family of 4. To me it was when we had the greatest infrastructure in the world. To meet was when we had the best schools system in the world. To me it was when a trip to the ER was couple 100 dollars. To me it was when most universities and colleges were very low cost or free. To me it was when we invested heavily in science and even sent men to the moon and to me it was when we did all of this without massive deficit spending.
