Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine is just 39% effective in Israel where the delta variant is the dominant strain, but still provides strong protection against severe illness and hospitalization, according to a new report from the country’s Health Ministry.

The efficacy figure, which is based on an unspecified number of people between June 20 and July 17, is down from an earlier estimate of 64% two weeks ago and conflicts with data out of the U.K. that found the shot was 88% effective against symptomatic disease caused by the variant.

There are lots of misinformations going around and circulated in major newspapers. They cannot even distinguish the differences between efficacy and effectiveness. A vaccine's efficacy must be done under a controlled environment. Effectiveness is how the vaccine can perform under the real World. They are talking entirely different things. So far, there has not been any trial test done on Pfizer to re-determine the efficacy and it will never be as the vaccine has been approved by WHO who requested it.

The information about 39% efficacy for Pfizer is never confirmed by Israel Health Ministry. That announcement could be just another fake and misinformation. There will lots of them floating around. LOL

doesn’t matter what media say, the data show the daily cases jump up for Britain (39k-42k), Israel (from 30plus to 1400 plus) and the US (doubled up to 28k-32k) in the past week, Delta variant is the cause, majority of new cases in the US are due to Delta variant.

All these 3 countries have been highly vaccinated, how come daily cases surge now?

The US never lock down, you can go visit the US even if you are not vaccinated, bo quarantined is needed, it’s a free country, freedom of passing viruses, freedom of not wearing masks.  As for the UK, there are large number of South Asians there, no wonder daily cases keep going up to 38-42k level despite more than 50% people are fully vaccinated with AZ, their lockdown has been lifted last week even though things are getting out of control, people celebrated in bars, night clubs and streets.

This entire vaccination saga actually pissed Singaporeans cos they now can see ever more clearly that this current administration simply twist and bend for their own agenda. Staring at the latest moh figures, it is very clear that vaccine has no advantage when it comes to infection. Yet each time they report, they want to play up the focus on aged who are unvaccinated. 

Sinopharm should be brought in for people who prefer not to go with mRNA. 

Why the obsession on mRNA? Heavily invested or die die must support USA? Then get a non mRNA USA vaccine into Singapore.

many europe countries has > 60% vaccinated at least 1 dose has lower mortality rate.
like uk high infection but much lower mortality then when they were without any vaccine.
sweden has a similar dual peak like other countries although they have no lock down. their
mortality is also low after >60% at least 1 dose of vaccine. looks like covid-19 may be on the way out.
be on guard of merlicious act to infect others. people who has interest to have the

Do u know why UK is doing more tests to show more people getting infected while there is little or no increase in hospitalization and death? Why they borther even to do the test? No test no infection right.
