铁道部副部长胡亚东说,京沪高铁全线设立地震监控点31处,一旦监测到地表不规则震动,可直接向列车供电系统、信号系统发出指令,在第一时间使得列车降速乃至停车。

Unfortunately this cannot happen in Singapore, 350km/h means boon lay to pasir ris in 5 min
That's disadvantage of small country
You can afford ferrari but cannot afford to drive fast and long enough to enjoy the ride

Now 13 years later in 2023, still cannot find the railway.

A HSR is for long distance travel, not for short distances.

You don't ride a motorbike or drive a car to go from Block 120 to Block 121 because the Sheng Siong supermarket is located at the block opposite.  You simply walk over.

A HSR is supposed to run at that kind of speed  If it does not then it is not a HSR.

It's like screaming:  Indonesians are using smartphones!  Can make phone calls!  Can WhatsApp!  Can take pictures!

OK noted.  They are using smartphones and they have a HSR which works as HSRs are supposed to.

Oh wait a minute.  The HSR was made by tiongkok wor!

Indonesians are a little more welcoming to the Chinese than *some*  Asian countries with existing vast railway network..

The unfortunate REALITY is such messages are not often "well taken" when comparison is made with China...

Indeed, HSR is not suitable for short distance travel. The average recommended station-station is at least 300 km or an hour ride on a standard CR400 Fuxing HSR. Jakarta-Bandung route however, is less than half or 142km. The decision has to do with cost (vs the Japanese HSR) and the  relatively more dense pop of Java .

If this Indo's maiden HSR operate well and popular in the coming years, there is high chance Jakarta may expand the country's HSR network in the far future. Who else can commit to this project by then looking forward ?

From what I had gathered, the Indonesians are increasingly more receptive to HSR solution vs air or sea travels.

The Chinese are aware of the negative narrative some love to put on them on this HSR project. So the Chinese do what is usually they do best - deliver the product and solution the best they can with little complain.

So the Indonesian test out their latest investment last month at 350kph with both a bottle of mineral water and a coin standing on its edge - like many did on China's HSR.  The Indonesian media gone nuts over that video that this is now in their country... Big Grin
