As a consolation, the authorities may settle at 8%.
Will just say only a one percentage point increase.
Hopefully a generous relief budget for the population.

No increase and keep it at 7%. Govt need to seriously look at increasing progressive tax instead. A good govt would tax the rich more as stop pretending that regressive taxes are to help the poor. Any GST increase will be a burden to the middle income and below. Those who live in non-hdb are not necessary rich folks and are often left out of the GST relief packages. Alot of people would be suffering with more inflation

What has double degree in mathematics got to do with economics?
Greedy MIW salary is out of touch with the common people wages.

Why no need to substantiate why the hike cannot be put off? She said cannot means cannot huh.

What support is the govt giving me? I pay my taxes on very hard earned money and am now retired. I don’t receive anything from them. Rubbish talk and out of touch with the ground.

Govt should think of not just how to raise taxes but also how to cut cost. Just like the director at the zoo collude with contractors to fixed prices for many years but the zoo never thought about how they could be overpaying and instead just raise ticket prices.
Raise GST is not the only way.

PAP has brains to think, meh?
They have never Think Outside the Box in many areas because they just copy Half- past 6 ideas from other countries.
Yet, they dare to tell us to be grateful.
I'd rather vote for a taxi -driver.

Yes, the MIW must consider the plight of retirees without govt. help. They can only depend on their CPF savings to get by everyday. And it is a real struggle for them....

With higher GST, another round of inflation.
PAP is such a problem- maker. Having that CCBAI as 2nd Minister for Finance is like putting a Clown in the Gallery. Can see and laugh at but totally useless.

He spoke about minimum wage without knowing that there was such a thing as Workfare.
After he was told about it, he sat down very quiet.
Now he wants to talk about GST?
This chap is just opposing for the sake of opposing.
