TOKYO: Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga will step down, Kyodo news reported on Friday (Sep 3), and party sources said he would not run in a ruling party leader race in September, setting the stage for his replacement after just one year in office.

He seems like too nice a guy to be PM.

A PM needs to be nice on the surface and ruthless underneath.

Before Abe there were half a dozen of PMs who stepped down after 2-3 years, the trend is back now.
