US secretary of state department will engineer something.

Any new Japan government has needed to be approved by US government ever since they surrendered in WW2. This was part of the surrender agreement. The trade-off was for the Japanese imperial family to remain intact.

The current PM will remain but he has to form a coalition government, he may be under pressure to step down from the opposition, see how long he can tahan.
