Sources in and around the PSS said that the response from the majority of PSS staff that day was based on the fact that a court’s Jan. 5 dismissal of Yoon’s legal team’s challenge to the warrant’s execution had removed any legal justification for blocking access, while leaving them potentially subject to serious personal legal repercussions if charged with obstruction of special public operations for attempting to stop the detention.
“They may not have been able to ignore the possibility of suffering personal repercussions and difficulties with receiving a pension if arrested [for obstruction],” they added.
