US plans to impose tariffs of up to 271% on solar panels from MY, 4 other countries
#1

The U.S. Department of Commerce issued a statement on November 29 saying that it is unfair for Southeast Asian solar products to be sold in the United States at prices below production costs, and recommended imposing tariffs ranging from 21.31% to 271.2% on solar panels from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, with the specific tax rate depending on the manufacturing company and place of origin.

Most of the solar panels installed by Americans come from overseas, with about 80% imported from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
