WAKAYAMA--A man in his 20s was in police custody April 15 following an explosion at the site where Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was due to give a campaign speech.

Police initially arrested the man on suspicion of forcible obstruction of business.

The suspect was identified as Ryuji Kimura, 24, of Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture, based on the driver’s license found on him at Saikazaki fishing port here, according to the Wakayama prefectural police, which announced the arrest.

He has refused to speak with police until a lawyer is present, sources said.

Investigative sources said they found a second similar explosive device at the scene.
