My area here got road works , the project last for entire month. Today happen to see quite a lot LTA staffs come to see. I see them from morning till now just chit chat among themselves like having a picnic. They arm with portable chair sit there chit chat among themselves , play phones from morning till now. Whereas Banagla at the side doing the work. Seem like not bad, almost entire day just sit there chit chat play games just wait for banagal do finish the work than see see look job done and go back home. Easy one day pass off like that.

Seem like Civil servants are so call " Highly paid supervisor.

How you know they are LTA staff and not the contractor's staff? Normally LTA only assign one or two staff to oversee each project. They do not have the luxury of 'many staff' doing one project.

Contractor staffs will not assign so many at one site standard one. Partly they have so many sub project so manpower is limited.

LTA staffs so many, some have to tag along wayang mah in fact not just LTA , literally every civil service.

Contractor also got to send their supervisors to monitor the workers.

LTA officers just get the reports and do the final inspection for approval and acceptance of projects completed. They don't supervise the workers.

Then,  you are wrong.  In Singapore there is only one LTA but many contractors. How can the number of LTA staff more than the contractors' staff?

I have this young, just graduated Engineer friend who always come to me to discuss the problem he faces in his work. He does not have many colleagues to share his problems as he is the only person assigned to this project. I have to give him various advice such that he would not be fooled by those unscrupulous contractors.

LTA itself have So many sub departments. Sound like you are civil servants should know. The public sectors and stat boards. One Department inside will have many sub departments.

Come been fool by sub con. Ha, I dare to say 90 percent of the civil servants don't even know in depth the technical part come technical job. Even come buildings.
