Social etiquette requires us to pretend to be caring about someone else's kids.
It's the same requirement to let an old woman sit even if she is not your mother, or let women have the first bite at the buffet table even if she is your office enemy's wife.
These rules of social etiquette are made by men long long ago. Should we change them?
