Labor Day : It's time for CHANGE
#1

Singaporeans used to take a wide span of work from top to bottom.

There was a time when good jobs in IT were mostly filled by Singaporeans.

Over time more and more foreign PMETs were imported displacing locals especially those who are older. In the last report in that 83,500 out of 88,400 jobs went to foreigners in 2023.

With rising job insecurity, high cost of living resulting from  high living density, the fertility among Singaporeans fell further with TFR falling to a historic low of 0.97.

Today the govt controlled unions want to celebrate Labor Day but has anythung improved for ordinary workers ...what is there to celebrate? Are we supposed.to celebrate the rising cost of living? The high cost of homes that impedes the ability of workers to upgrade to better hones?

At the pace things are deteriorating, perhaps we should celebrate that some.of us can still cling on to jobs albeit  low paying ones.

This is the system that serves a handful of elites who view themselves as the best among us so they are entitled to their high salaries and mansions.

Without change there will be no end to the downfall of ordinary citizens. Already we have shrunk to he smallest % of total population in our nation's short history. If this goes on how many of us will be left.

Our elderly  are the ones who contributed to the rapid progress of Singapore one of the fastest seen by mankind to take us here. Yet every week we heard of them dying alone in their flats only to be found when neighbors complain of smell. Without formal support many have no choice but to continue working well into their golden years. The gold seems to be with the leader elites who take home the highest income in the world among politicians. We do not begrudge their wealth but what they have done has worsened the plight of ordinary citizens. Singapore workers pay the high price of their success.

I am not here to provoke your anger but to describe the realities faced by ordinary Singaporeans. Too few ip there speak up or are even willing to look at the inconvenient truth of what they have done.

Today I will be at Hong Lim to support our workers' calll for change.

1. PAP cannot change unless 50% of them are permanently removed

2. PAP make changes without focusing on Citizens

3. PAP is too complacent and dare not Transform

4. PAP rather fix Opposition to change others

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

The only change we should adopt now is climate change.
Hot hot hot.
Only dumb ones go HL park and shout change. Results?
Sweatly bodies, dehydration, hoarse voices.

During my travels to the major cities in the developed world for work or leisure, I can't help noticing that foreigners are doing the blue collar work that locals shun such as driving PHVs and taxis. Why are the roles reversed in S'pore, where local PMEs displaced from their livelihood have to resort to performing such menial jobs?

Do we have enough local PME to fill all the PME roles? I don't think so. Can we let the unqualified and less educated locals to fill the PME roles? I don't think companies will allow that. So I think importing some PME to meet the companies needs are inevitable.
