Of course make sure you buy your leasehold landed that has HDB as the owners...at least you are ensured HDB will never go against your enblocking. But for greedy private land owners, I cannot say.
Now a freehold with this size is selling for at least $4million.

Every property cycle, I never fail to encounter such kumgong kumlan owners or property buyers who insist on buying freehold....like that how to get rich ? Can you live forever ? Can you leave another sum for your great grandson to repair the property ?

if you really keen to get one, check if some units in the estate had already renewed their lease. aso check the master plan for the surrending areas for any future redevelopment.

How many lands redeveloped ? How many freehold lands taken ? How many jungles gone ? How many graves gone ?
It is no brainer that we will be shortage of land in a mere 10 years next.
I tell you, one of these days, we may just change all freehold to 99 years... just watch...
If we can do that to BTO in prime area, we can do anything to any land.

There are still pockets of houses that are freehold, e.g. Panda Valley condominium, which sits on freehold land. The advantage of buying a freehold house as opposed to a leasehold house it that it can be sold enbloc to a developer at a neat profit. Even if the condo had been around for 60 over years, the remaining years of a freehold is 939 years.....

depending on many factors. fh needs more capital upfront, but the gain could be about the same. for example:
lh: bot 2.5m, sold/enbloc 3.5m, profit 1m
fh: bot 4.5m, sold/enbloc 5.5m, profit 1m

That is right for the recent houses. But a few decades ago, there are also condo that are sold at a competitive price, they are the ones that had escape the price at that point in time.......
