On 9th September 2021, Ford has announced its exit from India. With more than 25 years of existence in India, Ford has sold over 12 lakhs passenger vehicles here. Ford’s compatriot General Motors, has sold around 8.8 lakhs cars in India, under two different brands – first Opel and later Chevrolet, before leaving the Indian market in 2017.
