First 3 years at 2.6%....10 years average 2.99.
Some banks paying much higher than 2.6%....and can expect further upward movements.

Better off to place in FD for this round.

Any one subscribed?

This round not worth subscribing given current and impending higher rates elsewhere.

Dont waste time on Sg Sai Bond.
The Fed will raise rate vigoriously till Mar 22.
Even US 10 year bond is now giving 3.8% yield.

Good Bond yield and USD still strengthening some more…. Double Bonus…

Not necessarily...most banks pay pro rated board rate interest for completed 3,6, 9 months for pre mature withdrawals.

These days usually no penalty,  at most no interest for uncompleted quarterly months. Principal intact.

To each his own.

The interest lost due to the early withdrawal of FD is definitely more than the $4 costs of switching your SSB.
Even if we have to pay multiples of $4 (since we probably have only about 10k per issue).
I got less than interest $37 interest on a 100k deposit at 1.3% that was more than 3 months in FD.
If I had SSB,  even at just half a %, for 3 months , I would have gotten $125.
So even after deducting the $4 x 10 times,  I would be better off if I had gotten SSB instead of FD
