Lawrence Wong interviewed by foreigner journalist..how come Pitram cannot?
#1

Actually I cannot understand so someone can help me? There was heavy criticism of Pitram for being interviewed by foreign journalist in a podcast. A scathing article in the Petir demanded answers and said politics had to stop at waters edge and politicians cannot give interviews to foreign journalists.

So how come Lawrence Wong can give interview. I remember LKY also gave many interviews in foreign countries.

There is no law saying that none of us in Singapore nor anyone in Thailand cannot be interviewed on the streets, via internet or radio stations. PaP will try to use the whole Govt against PS.

Maybe because Ah Wong is not commenting on Singapore politics in his interviews with foreign reporters? He was talking about tariffs, trade etc in this particular interview rather than Singapore politics.

Errr.. none of those interview were conducted by "foreigner journalist"

In fact, Pritam was on a political podcast  hosted by ex-UMNO members

I am not surprised sgbuffett is as BLUR as that American-CECA-ambassader nominee.. Big Grin

PAP did not stop anyone from being interviewed by foreign journalist. Seems that the criticism was about the content of the interview was inappropriate.    Rolleyes

Don't worry - PS has every right to be in any interview he want - including being seen to be made used of by "foreign journalists" to tok about SGrean politics...

Me thinks this is a bigger mistake than how Pritam SCREW UP for WP like he did with Raeesah saga...

If I am his political rival, I would certainly optimise this opportunity, especially when WP credibility already dented under his tenet...

Big Grin

Let's do a simple comparison.

PM Wong was attending major economic forum organised by a Switzerland think tank as guest at a session hosted in China to talk about SG's economy and policies.

Pritam was supposedly on a "family holiday" in M'sia and he accepted invitation to a M'sian podcast to talk about SG politics.

I really don't understand why TS is so stupid to compare both "interviews"... Big Grin

...And to add insult to what remains of sgbuffett intelligence, he does not know any backgnd of both "interviews"...
A little surprise for those less-informed who runs that M'sian podcast... Big Grin

KUALA LUMPUR (2014)— Do not question Malay rights, says Khairy Jamaluddin
Non-Malays should never again dispute the special rights of the Malays and the position of the rulers, United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said today (Nov 26), adding that Malays themselves never questioned vernacular schools and the citizenship of non-Malays.“Why are there those who ask for the Malay special privileges to be stopped, those who dispute the position of the Malay rulers and even those who cannot speak a word of the national language?  Mr Khairy said it was a huge sacrifice for the Malays to allow other races to be a part of the country, so non-Malays must keep their end of the bargain and not question Malay rights...
