A bad of big onions at mama shop was $2.50 now $5.30! All basic ingredients shot up register much higher costs pass down to end consumers. Quote eg only.

Onions cheapest at sheng shiong.
Ah neh profit like crazy.
Potatoes from China so cheap compare with Aussie and US.
Food wise cannot complain, unless you go for expensive ones. Taiwan imported fruits also cost more.

when prices of this went up to 70cents................i stopped buying liao.............just like prata at 70cents

There are many options readily available. NTUC sells frozen youtiao or prata. Just fried it at home!

The frozen roti prata from FairPrice is less oily and fluffier than the hawker produced version. I will usually pack a fish curry kosong gravy to go with the home cooked prata.

I buy the various sauces, curry and pre-mixed gravy from NTUC, Giant or Cold Storage to produce restaurant or hawker centre quality dishes at home at a fraction of the price.

In jb, when you order prata, they give you 2 different gravy and 1 sauce...
Here...prata so expensive and gravy just 1 kind...want to top up the gravy, they give black face.. Smile
