Loh Pei Ying agrees that redaction of evidence was ‘manipulative’
Mr Andre Jumabhoy circles back to Ms Loh Pei Ying’s redaction of Mr Yudhishthra Nathan’s message when submitting evidence to the Committee of Privileges (COP).
In the message sent on Oct 7, 2021, Mr Nathan said: “In the first place, I think we should just not give too many details. At most apologise for not having the facts about her age accurate.”
When submitting evidence to the COP, Ms Loh had said the redaction was made on the basis that it was a comment about an unrelated MP.
Mr Jumabhoy says Ms Loh’s decision to hide the message was “manipulative”.
“Do you agree with that characterisation?” he asks. She disagrees.
Mr Jumabhoy says: "You don’t think it’s manipulative to decide what evidence helps you and your friend."
Ms Loh replies: "That’s not why I hid that."
Mr Jumabhoy presses on with his questioning: "You don’t think it’s manipulative (to decide) what evidence helps you and your friends?"
Ms Loh pauses, before asking the lawyer to repeat his question.
Mr Jumabhoy repeats, and Ms Loh concedes: "It is manipulative."
