Victims would receive calls from scammers impersonating bank officers, probing into “suspicious banking transactions” that they supposedly made.

That whopping amount makes many scammers a millionair in their home country. This, Govt  has been hesitant and never been prepared to wage a war against scammers. I hope that the insipid Minister been put through Performance Improvement Plan of 12 mths for such attitude.

Victims were directed to fake bank sites to key in their login credentials to make payment within the app. The malware would capture the credentials entered. The scammers were then able to access the victims’ CPF accounts remotely using the stolen Singpass passcode and make a request to withdraw funds through PayNow.

It seems that CPF protects ( I mean prevent) us from drawing our own money but it is another gateway like Open Floodgates for Foreigners.

News say that members can set withdrawal lock which is similar to us setting a new lock account. Has both CPF or the bank increased hiring at these counters?

now that there are real cpf being scammed. police should go after them with all their strenth and might as they have also inpersonated police etc. the police trust is lost in this case.

so must go after them. don't tell me cannot trace. go telco and go after all the record.

can also set trap for these scammer to fall prey then fish them up the line. to catch the big one.
