Lack of required skills, mismatched salary expectations make tech, nursing vacancies hard to fill, say recruiters

"Companies are willing to stretch around 10 per cent of their budget but most of them still ideally will want to stick to their original salary budget," said one recruiter.

this report is totally not true.

the employers just need to apply with IMDA and WSG to join the train and hire job programme.
they can get at least 10 applicants for every 1 vacancy.

for example, there are 4000 applicants for 400 vacancies in Finance IT job programme.

LOL, that WSG, imda whatever training stopped liao & for good reason.

Since mass layoffs of tech ppl, they can hire experienced ppl & low ball at same time. Unless those "available" ppl really jialak whose real job performance & skills dun match the Certifications they have. (I.E : ceca.....) {that would be why SG still hv shortages of "talents"}

You look at their career change program & only see some "happy stories", but real companies won't hire anyone outside their field....
.... much less train them with salary somemore...esp if age 40 < .

I know this cos limpeh in tech field & trained these "skillfuture ppl" before last time before quit cos of ceca unfairness.

Now do gigs like fivver, remote co, flex-work for stable income, even overseas ones regardless of it's nature.

After such a huge mistake, yet SBQ and Dead Dragon

have not removed the Unneeded in Non- IT  FTs in SG

We must wait for another 20 years then vote for them, lor

After so many years of SkillsFuture and improving our education system, this gap should be much narrower by now.
