Actually A LOT Singaporean also know this , Even expats too. They rent out their property in SG and stay in MY. Usually these people most own car so , at least a bit more convienent for them.

My Malaysian cousin and his wife worked in SG for decades and retired early to live back in Ipoh in a spacious landed home and have 2 cars.
