The new record extends Shanghai Ports’ 14-year reign as the busiest port in container shipping and reflects China’s growing influence in global trade."

Other ports may massage the TEUs numbers but China will not .

Australia used Singapore substantially for her transhipment.
A large volume of commodity exports going thru Singapore ,- helping to keep Singapore alive.

What can Singapore 1/2 trillions GDP compared in real terms? Logical?
Thus, indicating port of Singapore heavily survive on transhipment from the region.
